Phillips couldnt wait

Colleyville (Texas) Heritage tight end J.B. Phillips decided that he couldn't wait another day to make his decision.
So when the Nebraska coaches came into his home this afternoon, Phillips decided to end the process, picking the Huskers over Kansas State and Oklahoma State.

"I just followed gut feeling," Phillips, who is 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds, said. "I've had this gut feeling for a while and it's been telling me Nebraska for some time."
Phillips said what sealed the deal was when the Huskers new tight end coach came to visit with him this afternoon.
"Coach Downing just answered the last questions that I had," he said. "And from there it was an easy pick. All the schools were great, but Nebraska just was what I was feeling all along."
Kansas State coach Bill Snyder was scheduled to make an in-home visit with Phillips on Tuesday, but that visit will not take place now at Phillips request.
"I'm done," he said. "Tell all the Nebraska fans that I'm a Husker."
Phillips is ranked as the nation's No. 40 tight end.
