Phillip Mbakogu: Back From Oregon

Hayward (Calif.) defensive lineman Phillip Mbakogu
took his fourth official visit of the season to Oregon this past weekend and said the Ducks have moved up his list and are right there with Cal at the top of his board.

“I don’t know if I could decide between the two right now,” Mbakogu said. “They’re both great schools but real different in a lot of ways. Oregon has a great family atmosphere there and there is a special relationship between the players and coaches. The staff is as good as it gets there and the facilities are probably the best I’ve seen.
“I’m going to take my last visit to LSU this weekend and then I’ll be ready to sit down and start thinking about making my decision. Right now, I don’t know what I would do because I have a lot to think about still.”
Phillip and his good friend and teammate Robert Jordan have talked openly and often about going to the same school. The interesting part is Jordan is not visiting LSU next weekend.
“We definitely want to go together, but at the same time, I have to do what’s best for me,” Mbakogu said. “If LSU just blows me away and is a school I feel is the best place for me, I’ll have to be a man and choose LSU. I still think there’s a great chance that Robert and I will end up together but I won’t know that until another week from now.”
