Philippi waiting for summer camps

Marc Philippi has an offer from UNLV so far and more could come this summer once the Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman attends some camps.
Those will be big for the 5-foot-11, 205-pound safety who said he's definitely attending camps at Stanford and San Diego State with possibly others as well. So far, Washington State, Illinois, Utah State, San Diego State and Stanford have been the most involved.

"I'm kind of in the boat where I could play linebacker or safety so schools are kind of looking at me as both," Philippi said.
"It can be an advantage but also take more time. That's what they've been saying but it's been going well."
Philippi said he's confident once coaches see him in person this summer that more offers could be on the way. Film is one thing but once coaches put him in different positions then they could be even more intrigued by his abilities.
"I feel confident enough in my feet and the way I run that once I go to a camp and coaches see me a bunch of schools should start pulling the trigger," Philippi said.
"They want to evaluate me in person and have a little more than just watching film so I'm excited about being able to perform and compete and let coaches see me in person."
UNLV is definitely one of the schools Philippi is interested in but he wants to attend summer camps before making any decisions. Playing close to home could be intriguing but he wants to see what else might happen in his recruitment before making a commitment.
Philippi said he's open to all programs right now.
"I'm interested in everybody," he said. "I'm keeping all my options open right now because they're my only offer but I like the staff, playing in town and everything, so it's definitely an option right now.
"I'm just not shutting anybody out right now. I probably won't make a decision until after the season."
