Pettaway recaps summer camps

There are high expectations this fall for Saint Clair Shores (Mich.) South Lake 2016 running back Martell Pettaway after a strong summer that included two Big Ten camps.
One of those camps was with Michigan State. Pettaway already held an offer from the Spartans before he worked out for their coaching staff.
"It was a nice camp and I think I was a standout there," Pettaway said. "I got to see how the team was, the coaching and the players there."
Being the first, and to date the only, offer for Pettaway has put Michigan State in a strong position early in this recruitment.
"It's going to be a tough team as more offers come through because they were the first," Pettaway said. "They made the difference in my college choices."
Pettaway ended the summer by attending Ohio State's Friday Night Lights Camp, where he got good feedback from the Buckeye's staff.
"It was a good experience, I liked it," he said. "The coaching was great. Their running backs coach, I have a good relationship with him and he's a pretty cool dude. He said I did pretty good at the camp, but I'll stand out better with the pads on. He said he's going to stay in contact and will be watching my film."
Ohio State is another team that should be a strong contender if they come through with an offer for Pettaway.
"That was my school and I grew up watching them," Pettaway said. "Just the team, the coaching and the whole program that is up there is real nice."
Other schools the 5-foot-10, 200-pound Pettaway hears from consistently include Indiana, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
In his sophomore season Pettaway averaged close to eight yards per carry and finished with 1,400 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.
