Peters looking forward to UF visit

Rivals250 defensive end prospect Jason Peters is looking forward to making an official visit to Florida this weekend. The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder from Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic spoke with Rivals.com on Wednesday about his forthcoming trip to Gainesville and how recruiting in general is shaping up.
Peters will head to Gainesville on Friday.

"Well, Florida won the National Championship, so that speaks for itself right there," he said. "Other than that, it's a great program and I think there is opportunity there as well."
The Gators program, however, does represent a bit of the unknown.
"Right now, I'm uncertain and a little unsure about Florida because I haven't really seen the school yet," he said. "So there are a lot of unknowns about the school."
Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Notre Dame and LSU also are involved with Peters. Fighting Irish head coach Charlie Weis is due in Peters' home tonight. Nebraska defensive line coach Buddy Wyatt is supposed to come by Thursday
Georgia Tech assistant Curtis Modkins visited on Tuesday night.
Peters is the nation's No. 14 strongside defensive end prospect and is a four-star rated recruit by Rivals.com.
