Person still sitting on one offer

Big 6-foot-4, 215-pound wide receiver Denzel Person continues to hold a lone offer from Duke. The Bellport, N.Y. receiver is continuing to field interest from other interested parties.

"Duke is still the only offer on the table," he said. "I'm interested in them since they've already offered, but I'm going to wait until the end of the season to see what schools will offer. I think I'm planning to visit there sometime after the season.

"A couple other schools want to see some game film. Stony Brook and Minnesota are also checking me out."

The two-star prospect has had a pretty solid season up to this point.

"It's going good, we're pretty much the same team from last year, but execute better on offense and defense," he stated. "I'm playing all the time and doing the best I can for Bellport.

'I've been playing pretty good. I have at least 20 tackles and 3 interceptions. On offense, I've got four receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown. It's been tough this year because more teams are keying on me. I can say that I have seen an improvement on both sides of the ball. I've learned to read the quarterback more and offensively I've learned to find the open spot as a receiver."
