Perry next at Hawkinsville

Once upon a time, nestled deep in the heart of Hawkinsville, Ga., there was a freakish defensive end named Charles Johnson, who wreaked havoc upon opposing defenses. Just when you thought the nightmare was over, Johnson’s cousin, 6-foot-3, 285 pound Brandon Perry emerges.
“I still don’t have any offers yet and I think it’s mainly because I haven’t taken the SAT yet,” Perry said.

“I’m getting mail from just about every school that I can name. I get the most from Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee, Miami, South Carolina, Clemson and teams like that.”
The massive Perry, runs the 40 yard dash in 5.1 seconds and boasts a ridiculous 365 pound bench press as well as a 535 pound squat.
“I’m getting ready to go out and see a bunch of schools over the next couple of months. On April 3rd I’m going to Georgia for their junior day. I will also probably be going back on April 10th for their spring game.
This past weekend I was supposed to go to Auburn and watch their spring game, but I wasn’t able to make it because my cousin was playing in an all-star basketball game. I hope to be able to check them out soon though.”
Perry was a dominant force on a defensive line that helped lead Hawkinsville to the class 1A state title in 2003. Perry collected all-region and all-state honors in the 2003 campaign.
“My teammate Trey Dunmon went to Tennessee last weekend for an unofficial visit. He said that they talked to him a lot about him. He told me that they told him they want to me come up there and visit and that they were very interested in me too.”
Perry plans to camp at Georgia, Tennessee, possibly Alabama and/or Auburn and others. He also said that he would like to the Nike camp in Atlanta in May.
