Perkins grabs third offer

MORE: Class of 2015 dual-threat quarterbacks
Bryce Perkins knows the life of a dual-threat quarterback has its unique challenges. He intends to stay at his current position on the next level no matter. Playing under center the most important thing to the three-star junior.

It's why finding a system that fits his skill set has become so important. When Perkins, a 2015 prospect, is evaluating schools, tradition and facilities are secondary. For him, it's all about fit.
Ideally, he'd like to find an offense that resembles the one he runs at Chandler (Ariz.) High School. It's why his newest offer, an invitation from Northwestern, has his attention.
"I know it's a great school with academics and a great school with football too," Perkins said. "I know they run a similar type offense to what we run at my high school, too."
Quarterbacks coach Mick McCall is headed up Perkins' recruitment for the Wildcats. And that relationship, it seems, has flourished in a short amount of time.
"He actually came down to see me throw a while back," Perkins said of McCall. "He always wants to see his quarterbacks throw in person before they offer. He liked me, so he offered me, and we've been talking since."
Perkins says Washington is scheduled to be at his school in the next week to watch him throw, but he also plans to do some traveling of his own in the near future. Offseason visit destination include Northwestern, Washington and Oregon.
The Ducks have always held a place in Perkins' heart. He hasn't been shy about his desire to land an offer from Mark Helfrich's program in the past. These days, though, he seems to be more relaxed about the issue.
"I like Oregon because they are probably the closest to what we run at my high school," Perkins said. "If they don't offer, it won't be the end of the world. There are a lot of other schools out there that I fit with just fine."
Perkins currently holds offers from UCLA and Arizona State in addition to the recent invite from Northwestern.
