Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood Catholic all-purpose back Desmon Peoples is coming off a big junior season in which his production improved from the previous year.
With two verbal offers, from Rutgers and Pitt, Peoples is confident moving forward and he's starting to make plans that will affect his immediate future.
"I know for a fact I'm going to Rutgers for a spring practice and a spring game," Peoples explained. "I've already been to Rutgers for their junior day. That went great. I had some time to talk to coach (Greg) Schiano and I enjoyed it.
"At the end of this month I'll be at Notre Dame. I haven't talked to (their coaches) but they've been in contact with my coach. I know they have a great program. They have a lot of prestige. It's a very prestigious school, also."
Peoples will be making that trip with teammates Colin Thompson and Frank Taylor, both of whom are being evaluated by the Irish as well.
The 5-foot-7, 160-pound back said West Virginia is another school that has shown serious interest.
Last fall Peoples carried the ball 157 times for 1,370 yards and 25 touchdowns. He said he is being recruited as an all-purpose back.
