Penson focused on the playoffs

Lufkin, Texas linebacker A.J. Penson has been plenty busy with his team still holding an undefeated record and looking for a state title.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Penson still holds the same scholarship offers that he originally had from Houston, Iowa State, and UTEP. Nothing really has changed, but Penson says that the pressure is on to finish the run for Lufkin and the championship.

"We just have to keep doing what we're doing," Penson said about the playoffs. "Everybody wants to beat you when you're No. 1. That doesn't change. It's pressure every game."
Penson says he's right around the 70 tackle mark despite not having any sacks or fumble recoveries. He's also playing both inside and outside linebacker.
"Some of the schools like me at inside and some at outside," Penson said. "I don't care as long as I get to play."
Though his offer count remains the same, Penson thinks two Big 12 schools will join the mix before Signing Day.
"I think Texas A&M may come and Nebraska possibly," Penson said. "They've both been talking tome a lot, Texas A&M especially. They just like me as a player and they said they're going to keep recruiting me as long as I keep working hard."
Penson says he doesn't have any leaders yet and will take visits after the season.
