Pensacola OT with four offers

An offensive line prospect to keep a close eye on is James Elliot. Elliot, 6-4 and 285 pounds, is another standout recruit from Pensacola Catholic High School in the Sunshine State. Elliot plays left tackle but is versatile enough to play all the positions along the offensive front at the next level.
"I have good speed for a guy my size," Elliot said. "I can get to that second level and I can pass pro well too. I have good footwork and that's because I played basketball my whole life. I just started playing football as a freshman. In fact, I gave up basketball this year so I could concentrate on getting stronger and I have also been working on my agility. I also joined the weight lifting team. I am seeing real progress."

According to Elliot, he has a few scholarship offers at this point. Louisville, Florida Atlantic, Florida International and South Alabama have all offered.
"South Alabama was first. FIU offered on Tuesday. I have been talking with some other schools as well like Alabama and Florida State. I talked with coach (Rick) Trickett today. Me and DJ (Pettway) are supposed to go watch a spring practice there. I am also talking with coach (James) Willis at Texas Tech. I want to see them as well. I know I am going to go to Louisville on my spring break. I talk with them the most, at least two or three times a week. Coach (Ron) Dugans is great."
So far Elliot has attended a few junior days. He was impressed with what he saw at both Florida and Alabama.
"Florida is showing some interest and I enjoyed their junior day a lot. They are pretty serious there. Alabama was cool. I talked with coach (Nick) Saban. I like their family atmosphere."
Has a leader emerged for Elliot?
"I would say there are two with Louisville and Alabama. Alabama has not offered yet. But it's early. I really want to see where I can get some playing time. Atmosphere is important to me as well."
