Pennsylvania DB names a leader

Even though he played in just four games last year due to injury, Beaver (Pa.) Beaver Area safety Manny Cutlip is getting his share of recruiting interest. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder has even gone on a few unofficial visits this spring to find out more on some of the schools.
"I've gotten invites to a lot of practices and more particularly from Pittsburgh, Toledo and Kent," he said. "I went to Kent's junior day a few weeks back and then to one of Pitt's practices this spring.

"Kent was alright. The coaches were really nice and so was the atmosphere, but I just didn't like how it was set up there. As for Pittsburgh, I like that; it's a whole other league. The atmosphere at the games is loud and practice is a lot different from high school. I was really impressed with the way people hit there. They try to hurt each other."
Cutlip plans to take in the Metro Index Combine in the near future along with a summer camp at Penn State.
Are there any leaders for the Keystone State prospect?
"The main one for me is Pitt," he stated. "They've been updating me more than the other schools and I've met some of the coaches on visits. I went to all of their home games last year. I like the coaches there. They seem to work with you and make sure you're doing the job right and if you're not, they are on you."
In the four games he did play, Cutlip registered five interceptions and five touchdowns. He also earned all-conference honors.
