Penn State offers Bredeson

Hartland (Wisc.) Arrowhead 2016 offensive tackle Ben Bredeson does not have many more offers to check off on his wish list, but he got one on Wednesday night.
"Penn State has been on my radar since the get-go," Bredeson said. "I haven't really heard much from them and always wanted to, but once Sept. 1 hit Coach (Herb) Hand was one of the first to reach out to me. I finally was able to figure out a time to call him and we talked for a good 20 minutes on everything Penn State, then he offered me."

Bredeson has a base of knowledge about Penn State, but was able to learn more during Wednesday's conversation.
"Anyone that has watched football knows Penn State is a traditional program and they have a lot of stuff going for them," Bredeson said. "I know a little bit about them, but talking to Coach Hand really helped me learn more.
"The way he talks and everything he said about his morals and how they are going to run Penn State now, it's everything I am looking for in a school. He said, 'it's going to be tough to get you out of the Badger State, but we're going to try our best.'"
The next step in Bredeson's recruitment with Penn State will be visiting the school, something he will work to accomplish in the future.
"Hopefully I'll be able to get out there at some point.," Bredeson said. "He said if I can get up to a game, great, and if not he'll try to come out here for one of my games. They are far away from Wisconsin so it is hard to get out there for a visit, but if there is a chance to get out there I will definitely stop by. Hopefully I can see it at least once."
Notre Dame will be the next school to host Bredeson. The four-star lineman is visiting South Bend this Saturday for their tilt with Michigan. He last visited their campus in the spring.
"Once you step in there it's going to be 80,000 fans screaming at the top of their lungs," Bredeson said. "Once I finally get used to that I think I'll be able to watch the game, focus in on the line and see what is all going on."
Additional game visits will be taken this fall, but Bredeson is still matching up his schedule with the schools he wants to see.
"I haven't scheduled anything else besides Notre Dame, but I'll hit some Badger's games I'm sure," Bredeson said. "I'll go out to a Michigan game and I'll try to go out to Ohio State and see one there too."
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Bredeson's Hartland (Wisc.) Arrowhead team fell to 1-1 on the season with a 24-20 loss this past weekend.
