We last spoke with Santa Fe Springs (Calif.) defensive back Romeo Pellum following his official visit to Utah back in mid-December. Despite a good visit and an offer to greyshirt, Pellum was most excited about his January visit to Washington State and hinted a commitment would likely take place. Those plans may have changed.
Pellum, 5-9, 150 pounds is one of the state's top two way players and is getting looks at both receiver and defensive back. He was one of the top cover corners at the NorCal NIKE Camp and is getting recruited by the Cougars as a cornerback.
"I leave Friday morning for my visit and I'm really excited about checking out Washington State," Pellum said. "They have great defensive coaches and it should be a good time. My original plan was to commit on the visit but a few more schools have started to recruit me and I kind of want keep my options open.
"Arizona State has started recruiting me and I set up a visit there for (Jan. 19). They haven't offered me yet but are planning to when the visit me at the school next week. I won't visit without an offer, that doesn't make sense but it looks good that they will be offering.
"There are a couple of other Pac 10 schools on me as well and I hear a lot more after this weekend. Right now, I'm excited about this visit to Pullman and then I'm just going to take some time and weigh all my options before I commit anywhere."
