Pearman back to five

Charlotte (N.C.) Providence all-purpose back Andrew Pearman had committed to Virginia, but after a coaching change in the Cavaliers’ staff, he backed out of his early pledge. Five schools are still in the running for his signature, and in a whirlwind tour, he has visited four since Jan. 16. He will travel to the fifth this weekend before deciding.
Andrew visited Army on Jan. 16, followed by South Carolina on Jan. 18, Wake Forest on Jan. 20, and Virginia on Jan. 23. He will travel to Hawaii this upcoming weekend.

“I am not committed to anyone right now,” he said. “It was just the coach that was recruiting me (Kevin Ross) is not there, so I decided to open it back up to all of the schools I was looking at before.
“They are all even now. I don’t want to have a favorite going into my last visit, because that might affect how I look at it.
“All of the other visits went well, and I got to meet a lot of players. I am just not going to make a decision until after I take this trip.”
Rated the No. 11 all-purpose back in America by Rivals.com, Pearman stands 5-foot-9, weighs 163 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.3 seconds.
