Peach WR a tough customer

East Point (Ga.) Tri-Cities wide receiver Coleman Lynn is one of the Peach State’s top prospects to watch in the Class of 2005.
Coleman (5-9, 160, 4.45) led the Bulldogs in receiving as a junior with 443 yards and five touchdowns. He also returned a punt for a touchdown en route to all-area honors.

“He had a good season for us last year, and that was with us spreading the ball out to Ramarcus (Brown) and Tristan (Davis) as well,” Tri-Cities coach Robert Dendy. “This year, he’ll be one of our main weapons in our offense. We expect some big things out of him.”
Big things from a small package, it would seem.
“The thing about Coleman is he’s as tough and hard-nosed as any guy you’ll find his size… really for any size,” Dendy said. “When you look at him, you don’t think there’s much to him, but then you watch him play. This kid gets after it.
“He also wrestles, so I think he brings a lot of that toughness over from the wrestling mat. That’s a tough sport. You have to work hard to compete out there, and nobody will outwork Coleman.”
Dendy said Lynn also has great hands and quickness. He’s eager to see how his players perform in the spring and summer camps and combines to gauge their progress since last season.
“I want to see his vertical jump tested,” Dendy said. “This kid can really get up there. He’s going to impress a lot of people.”
Lynn has yet to receive his first scholarship offer, but has received interest from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin, among others.
