Position: Outside Linebacker/Weakside Defensive End
Size and speed: Lang is 6-foot-5, 220 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.
Statistics: As a junior, he recorded 50 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 16 sacks and five forced fumbles.
Honors: Was selected to the DeKalb all-area team.
Favorite Schools: Georgia, Alabama, Penn State, Maryland, Tennessee, Michigan.
Skinny: Lang is gradually moving from “sleeper” status to a prime prospect as his body continues to grow and mature. He’s grown a couple of inches and put on approximately 25 pounds in the last year, and could continue to develop into an outstanding player.
“He’s got the frame to put on another 40 or 50 pounds and still run fast,” said Tucker coach Bill Ballard. “This kid has incredible upside.”
As a junior, Lang caused constant headaches for opponents behind the line of scrimmage as evidenced by his 19 tackles for loss.
“He’s a very active player,” Ballard said. “He causes teams a lot of problems with his size and quickness. You can just imagine what he’d be like at 250 or 260 pounds.”
Lang has received letters from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Tennessee, Penn State, Maryland, Illinois, Michigan and West Virginia, among a host of others.
“He’s going to be one to watch next year,” Ballard said. “As more people get to see him, and if he keeps growing and improving, he’s going to have a lot of offers.”
Lang has not decided which camps he’ll attend this summer.
