Peach lineman picking up tons of offers

go a couple of weeks without talking to one of the best prospects in one of the top prospect producing states and things are bound to change from one conversation to the next. That is exactly what happened with Hawkinsville (Ga.) defensive/offensive lineman Brandon Perry.
You “Last time we talked I did not have any offers,” said Perry. “Now I have a bunch from some big schools.”

An understatement you might say?
“All of the offers that I have gotten, started about two weeks ago with Georgia. Since then Tennessee, Indiana, East Carolina, USC, Auburn, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida, Notre Dame and Mississippi State have offered.”
Perry stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 300 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 5.2 seconds and has a ridiculous 365 pound bench press as well as a 535 pound squat.
“Miami sent me a letter telling me to call them a few weeks back. I lost the letter and I couldn’t find it so I didn’t have the number, but I found it today so I will probably call them either tomorrow or Monday.”
Perry stated that he is wide open in the recruiting process, but did name a few schools that he was interested in.
“Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Miami, Tennessee and Florida State are some of the schools that I’m most interested in right now. I’m really pretty open though to pretty much everyone.”
Perry was a dominant force on a defensive line that helped lead Hawkinsville to the class 1A state title in 2003. Perry collected all-region and all-state honors in the 2003 campaign.
His cousin from the class of 2004, Charles Johnson signed with the Georgia Bulldogs and inside sources indicate that the Bulldogs may have the inside track.
“I went to junior day at Georgia a few weeks ago. It was real cool because I got to meet some of the coaches and players. I am planning on going back to camp there this summer.”
As a junior he accumulated 102 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and recovered two fumbles.
“Coach Zook was here from Florida just yesterday and he offered me a scholarship. I was really relieved when I got that first offer from Georgia a few weeks ago. Charles told me that he felt pressured to commit when he got his first offer from Georgia, but that he knew that is where he wanted to go so he went ahead and did it. I’m going to take it slow and find the best place for me.”
