Payton could commit to USC soon

Class of 2015 three-star receiver Tristan Payton of Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast is leaning heavily toward committing to USC and an official visit could come following an Aug. 7 visit to see the Trojans.
He said a decision could come in two weeks.

"To be honest, the school I'm mainly looking at is the USC Trojans," said Payton, who de-committed from Florida last week.
Payton has been talking with Trojans coaches including Tee Martin. He visited USC for the first time during the offseason and fell in love.
"It was my first time (to southern California)," he said. "It's a different lifestyle out there, you know? It's a different place. I'd never seen California so it was pretty different for me."
Payton received the USC offer on that initial visit after participating in a Trojans camp and touring the school. Within days of the offer, Payton began reconsidering his commitment to Florida. Soon after, it was time to have a tough talk with Gators coach Will Muschamp.
"Basically I let him know how I felt," Payton said. "I didn't really feel comfortable with the commitment that I made so early. When I sat down and thought about things, Florida wasn't the school for me. (Muschamp) wanted to get me back on campus one more time before I decided to de-commit and I was just like, 'I got to do what I got to do.'"
While Payton lists USC as his clear-cut leader, he plans on taking official visits to USC, Ohio State and UCF.
