Payne picks new school

After originally committing to Colorado State, three-star defensive end Craig Payne decided to take an official visit this weekend to Utah. It was a visit that changed his mind about his college future.
"I'm now committed to Utah," Payne, who is 6-foot-4 and 287 pounds, said. "I really liked the coaches, especially coach Aaron Roderick. I really feel he's one of the best coaches I've ever talked to. I love how he recruited me. I'm now a solid commitment to Utah. I'm not going to change my mind."

He also said Utah is the type of program he wants to be a part of.
"They're an up-and-coming program," he said. "I loved what I saw in the Sugar Bowl. That's the type of team that I can see myself being a part of."
Payne didn't play in 2008 because of a transfer rule that made him ineligible.
Utah also reportedly picked up a commitment from Ray Magee, a 6-3, 220-pound receiver out of Fullerton College. He can sign now and report to Utah for spring practices.
