Patton has taken lots of calls

Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge quarterback Chase Patton knew early the contact period opened on Sept. 1. And the calls kept coming throughout the day.
“Kansas State was the first to call,” the 6-foot-4, 205-pound Patton said. “They called in the morning. Then in the evening we had several others call.”

Those others were Missouri, Iowa, Stanford, UCLA and Tennessee.
“I had some good visits on the phone with the coaches,” the No. 2 rated dual-threat quarterback said. “It was very similar to May when the coaches could call once.”
Patton has not had any real changes to his list of schools.
“I still have a rough top three of Missouri, Tennessee and UCLA,” he said. “Then Kansas State, Iowa, Virginia and Stanford are right behind them.”
Patton was able to watch his hometown Tigers in their season opener against Illinois.
“Missouri wasn’t the home team Saturday,” he said. “So, they couldn’t give tickets to recruits. So, I just watched it on TV. They looked pretty good. If they keep getting better, they have a chance to be 5-0 heading into the game against Nebraska.”
Patton opens his season this week againt Mexico, Mo.
“All I know about them is they have a new coach this year. They’ll run the option, but other than that I couldn’t tell you much about them.”
