Patterson ready to compete

Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence North defensive back William Patterson, who announced a commitment to Indiana on Nov. 21, has his sites set on playing for the Hoosiers sooner rather than later.
"I think they are looking forward to me coming in and competing for a starting job," Patterson said. "That would be nice."

The 5-foot-11 and 206 pound Patterson had a nice senior season. He made 134 tackles including 19 behind the line of scrimmage. Patterson registered three sacks and intercepted two passes as Lawrence North finished with a 9-3 record.
Patterson committed to Indiana over a scholarship offer from Kentucky the weekend the Hoosiers played Purdue.
"Indiana is close to home," Patterson said. "It's probably the best situation for me right now. That's not to say Kentucky is not a good program. Indiana is just a better situation for me right now."
Patterson will make his official visit with the Hoosiers this coming weekend.
