"I'm planning on having a top five sometime in probably June," Patterson said. "I've just been taking visits to Auburn, Ole Miss. I'm trying to get down to Alabama, I've been to Mississippi State. I'm planning on getting to Florida. And LSU."
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound standout also has a few other plans for the summer.
"Probably a couple of elite camps like Big Dog Camp at Mississippi State, and probably something down at Auburn," Patterson said.
The plans continue into the fall. He plans to take his official visits during the season, and then he plans to make his commitment. He does not have any visits scheduled yet, but he does have an idea about his commitment timetable.
"Probably sometime in November or early December or something like that," Patterson said.
So is there a leader at this time?
"Not really, the schools that have been recruiting me hard would be Mississippi State, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Auburn," Patterson said. "And Florida is starting to come on too. They've come by the school a couple of times.
There are a few coaching staffs he has grown to know particularly well.
"Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Alabama," Patterson said. "I'd say those four I've grown close with in the last few years."
Each of their offensive line coaches have also built strong bonds.
"All the all o-line coaches - Coach Cristobal, coach Grimes, coach Luke, and coach Hevesy," Patterson. "They've all been on me the last few years, so I have a good relationship with all four of those coaches."
Patterson is currently ranked No. 3 in the Rivals.com Mississippi Preseason Top 20 for 2015 and he is the No. 4 ranked offensive guard in the country.
