Patterson getting fair share of attention

Rockwall, Texas receiver Michael Patterson has already received one verbal scholarship offer and with the amount of mail he's receiving, may have more coming his way.
The 5-foot11, 169-pounder says that he has the ability to play both cornerback and slot receiver. Most schools are recruiting him as a pass-catcher, but some like him at defensive back as well. Regardless, Patterson is keeping his options open early in the process.

"Troy was my first offer," Patterson said. "They said they needed some of my tape, so it's just a verbal offer right now. Maybe it's on the way, I'm not sure.
"There isn't really one school above the other."
Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas State, Arizona State, Arizona, and UCLA are just a few of the other schools showing him interest by way of mail. He says he plans to hit up camps and combines when things start kicking off in late March and in early April.
Patterson was a second-team all-district receiver and cornerback for Rockwall.
"It depends what system they're working with," Patterson said about where he might fit in position-wise in college. "Some have me as a corner and some have me as a slot receiver. I would have to say I prefer receiver, but I think I could also do well at cornerback."
