Florida and Florida State are running ahead of other schools in the race for Jacques Patrick, one of the nation's top running backs from the Class of 2015. However, the talented junior will take a trip to the Midwest this summer to check out a number of schools personally.
The Orlando (Fla.) Timber Creek running back is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound physical specimen in the backfield and the Seminoles and Gators have impressed him the most in the early going. Part of that, he admits, is because he is most familiar with the in-state schools.
"They're my early standouts but after the summer I should know for sure," Patrick said.

He is clearly leaving the door open and his summer schedule provides more evidence to that point.
"June 10-15 I'll be at Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State," Patrick said, noting it will be the first time he has visited any of those Midwestern schools.
"I'm probably going to go to some schools down here like Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Miami … schools like that."
As only a sophomore during the 2012 season Patrick rushed for more than 2,300 yards and 30 touchdowns.
