Paterson Catholic juniors getting looks

Paterson (N.J.) Paterson Catholic is home to a few 2008 prospects next year. None is bigger than 6-foot-4, 275-pound defensive tackle Jarel Lowery. Who doesn't have any offers yet, but is getting plenty of interest.
"I've had some good guys through this program and Jarel is an SEC/ACC type of player," Paterson Catholic coach Benjie Wimberly said. "He can play on Sundays.

"He really stands out because of his athletic ability for a guy his size. He moves with great quickness and has no fat on him. It's hard to believe he's 275-pounds. Jarel was a tight end for us last year and still could be now too."
Though he's shown tremendous ability, no one has offered the New Jersey lineman.
"He hasn't gotten any offers yet, but Georgia, Tennessee, Rutgers, Syracuse, Penn State, Stanford and schools all over the place are very interested," he said. "I know Miami is his favorite school. I think he likes the style of play there a lot since they have a lot of swagger or at least used to, now they are struggling a bit."
Two other guys to keep an eye on from Paterson Catholic are defensive end Doug Alston and cornerback Tyquan Tucker.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Alston has plenty of upside.
"Doug is already 6-3 and his dad is around 6-foot-6, 280-pounds," Wimberly said. "His upside is unbelievable and he even led us in sacks last year with 14. He is a true rush end that plays with a great motor, but most likely will get overlooked."
Alston doesn't look to completely get overlooked by recruiters according to Wimberly.
"I know a lot of the same schools looking at Jarel are considering Doug," he said. "Rutgers has already said they'll offer him sometime in the future."
Finally, the 6-foot-0, 165-pound corner Tucker is a hidden gem.
"He's an athlete that has good change of direction and can play any position," he said. "He's doing good as he moved to quarterback from wide receiver, but I definitely think he'll be a defensive back in college. This year he's already got two interceptions. He's very heady and sees the whole field and breaks on the ball on a dime.
"The only problem with him is that he has a sprained knee. I'm very confident he'll come back strong next year for us."
