Pastore impressed with Amato and staff

Canton (Ga.) Sequoyah quarterback Tony Pastore has been traveling all over the country this summer attending various football camps in an effort to boost his stock. It appears that his plan is working.
“Wake Forest called my coach and said that they were going to offer me,” Pastore said. “I haven’t gotten anything in writing yet though. Kent State has also given me a verbal offer, but I don’t count them until they are in writing. NC State has told me that I am in their top four and Ohio State has said I’m in their top seven of quarterbacks they are recruiting.”

The 6-foot-2.5, 200-pound Pastore hung in there with the best of the best at the Atlanta NIKE camp and ever since he has seen his stock on the rise.
“I’ve been to camps at Alabama, Auburn, Ball State, Wake Forest, Virginia, Ohio State and NC State so far this summer,” Pastore said. “I am planning on going to Florida’s camp in a couple of weeks as well. I was going to go to Georgia’s but they got a quarterback commitment and they look like they are through recruiting quarterbacks for this year.”
At the NIKE camp in Atlanta Pastore ran the 40-yard dash in 4.62 seconds, he had a vertical jump of 25 inches as well.
“Right now my favorites are Wake Forest, NC State and Ohio State,” Pastore said. “Those are the three schools on top right now. I also liked Ball State a lot when I visited, their whole coaching staff is just great. I am also looking at Florida really hard, they have come on strong here lately.”
As a junior he threw for 1,373 yards and 15 touchdowns with only five interceptions. He has a 205 pound bench press, a 400 pound squat.
“Of all the schools I have visited I have enjoyed it, but the one I liked the most was probably NC State,” Pastore said. “They are all Italian up there and I’m Italian so we hit it off from the beginning. Their facilities were nice too.
Speaking of great facilities Ohio State’s were incredible. The quarterbacks got to throw and do their workout in the indoor facility and that was really cool. I got to see the stadium and my favorite part of that was looking at the stain glass window with the Big Ohio State “O” on it.”
Pastore stated that he could make an early commitment if the right offer came along, but that he was not in a rush to make a decision.
