Pastore has an offer, favorites

Canton (Ga.) Sequoyah quarterback Tony Pastore is talking with an interesting mix of elite and mid-level colleges, but says that the offensive system of his eventual choice will be more important in his decision than a team’s recent success.
“I’ve been talking to Kent State, and I went to Memphis last week,” Pastore said. “Ball State and Ohio are talking to me, and I’m going to Florida this week. I’m talking to N.C. State, Wake Forest, and went up to Michigan for a game, too.”

He said he enjoyed watching the Michigan vs. Miami of Ohio game, but is convinced that the experience won’t have a major impact on his college decision. Instead, he favors the school that has given him a scholarship offer and others that relying heavily on an air attack to move the chains.
“Kent State has extended me an offer so they obviously stand out,” Pastore said. “I also really like Memphis’ offense and I like their coaching staff. Ohio and Wake Forest are looking good right about now, too. Those are my leaders.
“At Kent State, the coaching staff has really liked me, and they made it a point that I’m their first choice at quarterback, so I’m really happy about that. The Memphis coaching staff, where Coach [Running backs coach Jeep] Hunter is my recruiting coordinator; he and Coach [Head coach Tommy] West were both really nice to me and it seems like it’d be really fun to play up there.”
The pro-style passer plans to make all five of his official visits, but is holding off on deciding which schools he will visit in person.
