Parsons loves visit to Tucson

Irvine (Calif.) Woodbridge standout Alex Parsons took his first official visit of the season to Arizona this past weekend. Heading in to the weekend, it appeared the two L.A schools, USC and UCLA had a clear edge but the Cats are definitely in this race now.
Parsons, 6-4, 260 pounds is one of the elite players in the West this year. He plays linebacker in high school but is being recruited to play on the defensive line, either end or tackle.

On the recruiting front, Parsons returned earlier today from Tucson and couldn't say enough about the Cats.
"I had a great time, Arizona is right there at the top with USC and UCLA," Parsons said. "We played on Thursday this week so I got out there on Friday. I watched the team practice and then had dinner with the coaches. Adam Grant was my host Friday night and then Eben Britton was my host on Saturday. Friday was pretty mellow since the team had a game the next day and that was fine for me.
"Saturday I got the campus tour and saw the weight room and facilities. The city is great and I felt very comfortable there. I had been to Arizona once before with my brother but this was something totally different. I really got to know the school a lot better and see everything up close and personal.
"The game itself was incredible. The fans are crazy there and that new quarterback, Willie Tuitama, he's the man. He's going to be really good and the team is getting better every week. You can really see they're building something there and they actually should have won that game. In the locker room, Coach Stoops was telling the players he was proud of them for how they played and said they were just a few mistakes away from winning. I like Coach Stoops a lot, he's an intense guy but I like that."
Back in the summer, there was a lot of talk that Parsons may have already given USC a silent commitment and most recently, it seemed it would be tough for any school to steal him away from either SC or UCLA.
"No, Arizona is right there," Parsons said. "They're definitely in it and have as good a shot as anyone. They're probably recruiting me harder than anyone right now. I haven't really heard that much from USC recently and Arizona has been calling me every week. I still want to take all five of my trips but I don't what schools I'm going to visit yet.
