Parsons loves the Ivy League

He may not be the same kind of college prospect as his older brother, Notre Dame safety Freddie Parish, but Long Beach Poly (Calif.) quarterback Cruz Parsons is a talented player none the less and has looked very good this spring at various football camps.
Parsons, 5-10, 175 pounds burst on to the scene last year at Poly and put up big numbers in leading the Jackrabbits to the CIF Div I finals. Parsons earned first team all-league and all-CIF honors after completing 158-228 passes for 2,548 yards and 28 touchdowns. His lack of prototype size for the position is the only thing holding Parsons back from being recruited by high Div I colleges.

Parsons attended the EA SPORTS Elite 11 workouts in Las Vegas a few weeks back and looked very good. He was one of the most consistent quarterbacks both days of the camp throwing a nice, tight ball and showed plus arm strength and accuracy.
Parsons camped at Harvard this past weekend and earned top quarterback in the camp honors.
"I had a good time and liked it at Harvard a lot," Parsons said. "I'm looking hard at the Ivy league right now. Along with Harvard, I also like Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth and Penn."
Academically, Parsons is carrying a 4.2 GPA and scored a 27 on the ACT. The Harvard coaches have told Parsons they would like him to score a 29 on the ACT and if so, they could get him in. He's also the top quarterback prospect on the board for Princeton and Yale.
Parsons and the rest of his Poly teammates will be competing in the Nike 7 on 7 Passing Championship this Friday at USC.
