Parson commits sight unseen

Woodbridge, Va. linebacker Darius Parson made his decision yesterday. The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder decided to commit to Syracuse despite never visiting the school.
"I talked to Coach Moore," he said. "He was excited and he was just waiting on a decision from me.

"We've been talking for five months and he just told me he was going to let the other coaches know."
The decision for Parson comes as he plans to take his first trip up to campus on August 26th.
"I could have waited, but I've been talking to a lot of people about the recruiting process and I was just thinking I didn't want to miss out on this opportunity," he said. "To be realistic, I feel as though I can play at that level and it's the right thing right there.
"Syracuse has been on my mind and I'm comfortable talking with Coach Moore and the staff. It was right for me."
Obviously the trip at the end of the month will be big. What is Parson hoping to see?
"It is big, I just want to see a good environment," he said. "What I hear, most of my mom's side of the family came from Syracuse. It's really nice and cold up there. I want to see the environment, great people and friendly of course."
Parson plans to enroll next summer at Syracuse.
