Parkinson takes Pac-12 trips

Colby Parkinson has a lot of interest in being recruited by Stanford so he worked out at camp and also took in the junior day this past weekend.
For the 2017 four-star tight end from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian, it was definitely a valuable experience and he hopes the Stanford coaching staff steps up their recruiting efforts during his junior season.

"We got there at 8 in the morning and they brought us into the auditorium and they showed us a preview of what the day was going to be like," Parkinson said.
"We walked around. It's the same thing on all the visits - they showed the weight room and the coaches talked about the academics. We actually sat down with one of the professors from the school and that was pretty cool. We saw the stadium and that was pretty much it.
"They saw me run around on Friday at camp. They said they're very interested and they told me to be patient. They're really interested in me but they don't really offer early. They're one of the best so they can wait. It's just based on how I do this season. I could get an offer if I do well."
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound prospect is excited for his season to start. If he does well, Parkinson hopes more schools - including Stanford - will get involved. So far, the 2017 recruit has offers from Tennessee, Washington and Washington State.
"I'm very interested in Stanford," Parkinson said. "I'm up for the academics. I love pushing myself to the maximum in my football life and academics so I'd be very interested in going there."
Recently, Parkinson also visited Oregon and Washington. The Ducks said they'll be watching closely early in his junior season. His experience at Washington was great so the Huskies definitely have his attention.
"I met coach (Steve) Greatwood, he was the only coach I met at Oregon," Parkinson said. "They seem pretty interested. They said the first three games they'll be watching.
"Washington was just a cool experience with Seattle and the whole city. The vibe there is pretty cool. It was an awesome visit."
