Parkinson lands two big offers

Colby Parkinson is clearly one of the top 2017 tight ends in the country and in the last few days he has landed offers from UCLA and Michigan. The Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian standout is not naming favorites yet but there's no question he's going to take a close look at both programs as his recruitment moves forward.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Oregon and Duke are showing some interest in the 2017 four-star tight end but Parkinson is just taking his time and not rushing a thing. The USC coach hiring could play a role as he looks forward in his recruitment and UCLA and Michigan will also be closely considered. Parkinson is playing like one of the best tight ends in the country so more offers could influence his decision but this could be another USC-UCLA battle.
IN HIS WORDS: "Any offer from a Pac-12 school always means a lot," Parkinson said. "UCLA is a great school and their program is very impressive. Coach (Angus) McClure has been talking to me mainly and they offered me when I went down to the game Saturday. … I had talked with the tight ends coach (Jay) Harbaugh early on this season and he had said that they were eventually going to offer during the season and then I just talked to him (Tuesday) when he extended the offer. I am personally very intrigued by Michigan because of how much they use their tight ends. It is very appealing to me. It also doesn't hurt that even with two losses they are ranked No. 17 in the nation."
RIVALS' REACTION: Parkinson is just getting started with the recruiting process but it seems like the most interest is in USC, UCLA and Michigan. Tennessee could also be given a look but first the 2017 tight end is going to focus on finishing out his season and then he'll get much more focused on the recruiting process.
