Parkinson back from Stanford

Colby Parkinson has liked Stanford for a long time so his weekend visit there was another important step in his recruitment.
The 2017 four-star tight end from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian was not offered but he was still impressed with what the Cardinal had to offer and he's hopeful one could come through soon.

"It was really fun," Parkinson said. "I love the environment up there. Before the game walking around the field it was special for sure.
"It was good to see all the coaches again but nothing really new from the environment standpoint. I was always impressed with Stanford. It's still impressive and I'm still very excited to go up there."
Parkinson, rated as the fifth-best tight end in the 2017 class, does not have a clear picture of if or when Stanford will offer but he hopes it comes soon.
"Mainly, they said to keep focusing on my academics and they're watching my film," Parkinson said.
"I'm not sure exactly when the offer could come but I'm going to keep working and doing my best, try to win this week's game and hopefully they'll pull the trigger soon."
As for offers, Parkinson has landed Cal, Ole Miss, Tennessee, USC, Washington and Washington State so far.
There's no question the offer from USC is big in his recruitment.
"That was huge," Parkinson said. "I've always loved USC especially since they're a top program in college football. It means a lot for sure.
"It's definitely up there on my list. I say list with quotation marks because I don't have one yet but it's definitely up there. It's a big-time program and it's hard to turn down a team like that but we'll see what happens in the future."
