Parker picking up offers

Delray Beach (Fla.) Atlantic athlete Preston Parker garnered a lot of hype early in the recruiting process, but has not generated as much buzz lately. However, the college coaches have continued to come by and he has put together an impressive list of offers.
"I have offers from Louisville, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Eastern Michigan, NC State, Bowling Green and Akron," Parker said. "Florida State and Miami came by to see me a few days ago. Urban Meyer from Florida came with coach Holliday to see me earlier this month as well."

The 6-foot-0, 175-pound Parker runs the 40-yard dash in 4.52 seconds, he also runs the shuttle in 4.1 seconds.
"Right now my top schools are Arizona State, Miami, Florida State, Pittsburgh, Louisville, NC State and Rutgers," Parker said. "I like the program at Arizona State and the weather there is very similar to the way it is here in South Florida."
As a junior, Parker caught 23 passes for 450 yards and earned all-region and all-county honors for his efforts.
"I wasn't able to make it to any junior days or spring practices or anything this spring," Parker said. "I do plan on taking all of my official visits this fall and maybe trying to make a camp or two this summer."
Though Parker is not in any rush to make a decision, he already knows what he is looking for in a program.
"I want to go to a school that will give me a chance to play early," Parker said. "I don't want to redshirt. I really want to be an actor and I love math so I want to go to a school where I can pursue that."
