Panthers edging in on local ATH

Athlete Steffan Brinson has received two early offers, and he's interested in several schools. But recently Pitt has shown interest in him and the Panthers are shooting up his list.
"Pitt is very close to me location-wise," said Brinson. "It would be nice to be able to go to college somewhere really close to home. They're recruiting me harder than any other school right now as well. I would say Pitt and Virginia Tech are the two schools at the very top of my list at this point.

"I'm also interested in Minnesota and Cincinnati. I have offers from Cincinnati and UConn, and they're both recruiting me pretty hard. I also really like the tradition that Virginia Tech has at running back. It seems like they have a 1,000 yard rusher just about every year, and I like the way they give the back the ball so often."
The 6-foot-0, 188 pound athlete from Pittsburgh (Pa.) Woodland Hills runs the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds and also boasts a 4.01-second shuttle time.
"I want to play running back at the next level. That's the biggest thing for me at this point. I want to have the ball in my hands a lot in college. Location is also going to be a factor in my decision, and that's helping Pitt out a lot. I won't announce my decision until later on in the process."
Brinson transferred from Ambridge to Woodland Hills after three games last season, but didn't see much time with the Wolverines. Brinson made a name for himself by winning the WPIAL AAA championship in at 100 meters as a sophomore. He ran the 100 meters in 11.12 seconds. He also finished third at 200 meters.
