Palo Alto NIKE Camp recruiting notes

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Sunday's Palo Alto NIKE Camp was valuable because many of the top players in northern California performed at the event. But there was also a lot of recruiting information that came out - like Viliami Moala, hearing more from two SEC powerhouses.
Moala, a defensive tackle from Sacramento (Calif.) Grant, said Alabama and Florida have recently gotten involved in his recruitment. Each program sent a coach to his high school this month.

Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Oregon State, USC, Washington and Washington State are all involved as well. Moala said he will consider both SEC teams, but that playing closer to home is also a serious consideration.
In addition to Moala, there was news from several other camp participants. Get the scoop on these standouts, who are listed in alphabetical order:
Robert Ash, DE, Elk Grove, Calif.: San Diego State, Nevada and Fresno State are the newest offers for Ash, who said UCLA, California and Arizona State have been reaching out as well.
Sam Atoe, LB/SS, Santa Rosa (Calif.) Maria Carrillo: San Diego State might be close to offering Atoe, who is also hearing from USC, Arizona, San Jose State, Washington, Iowa State, Boise State, UCLA, Sacramento State and UC Davis.
Barrinton Collins , RB, Corona (Calif.) Centennial: Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State and Ohio are showing interest in Collins, who's switching from wide receiver to running back for his senior season.
Brandin Cooks, WR, Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln: Washington, Washington State, Arizona, Cal Poly and Nevada have offered Cooks, the best wide receiver at the Palo Alto NIKE Camp. Oregon State, USC, UCLA and Cal are showing the most interest. Washington is a favorite for Cooks at this point.
Ejiro Ederaine, LB, Corona (Calif.) Santiago: Ederaine will visit Arizona on June 6, Vanderbilt on June 13, UCLA on June 19 and he's hearing from Fresno State, New Mexico and San Jose State. The Commodores lead at this point because Ederaine has family in Tennessee and playing in the SEC intrigues him.
Malik Gilmore, WR, Lakewood, Calif.: The 2012 prospect from Southern California is hearing the most early on from UCLA, Colorado and Washington.
Zachary Green, RB, Los Angeles Cathedral: The recent transfer from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian said LSU, Washington and Alabama are showing interest, but that he likes USC the most. The Trojans have been in touch as well.
Ade Jackson, DB, Sacramento (Calif.) Christian Brothers: Cal Poly, Army, Navy, Air Force, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Pennsylvania, UCLA, Boise State and Stanford have shown interest in Jackson, who said the Cardinal is by far his favorite. His brother, Asa, plays at Cal Poly.
Marcus Mason, RB, Etiwanda, Calif.: Weber State, Fresno State, UTEP, Washington State and Northern Arizona is an early list for the running back from Southern California.
Shaquille Moseley, LB, Fresno (Calif.) Edison: Arizona State and Eastern Michigan have offered Moseley, who said Oregon is coming the hardest after him. He is also receiving interest from UCLA and USC.
James Price, DL, Sparks (Nev.) Legacy: One of the biggest surprises at the Palo Alto NIKE Camp was Price, who said he's receiving interest from Arizona State, New Mexico State, Oregon State, Nevada and UNLV.
Jordan Rigsbee, OL, Chico (Calif.) Pleasant Valley: California and Boise State have emerged as the top two - and possibly final two - for Rigsbee, who has all but eliminated Oregon from contention. Rigsbee has visited Cal (his brother plays there) and Boise State and plans to return to each school for summer camp before making a decision.
James Sample, DB, Sacramento (Calif.) Grant: Washington, Washington State, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, San Diego State and Nevada have offered, and the Huskies lead for Sample - who's not close to a decision yet. Alabama and USC are getting involved as well.
Tyrone Sauls, LB, El Cajon (Calif.) Christian: USC, Oregon, Harvard, UCLA, Cal Poly, Air Force and Washington have gotten involved.
Mansel Simmons, TE, Sacramento (Calif.) Sheldon: Notre Dame, Princeton, New Mexico, Fresno State, Nevada and Idaho State have shown interest in Simmons but no offers have been extended.
Aarin Smith, LB, Fresno (Calif.) Central East: Fresno State, Connecticut and Hampton are the schools showing the most interest in Smith at this point.
Larry Scott, WR, Corona (Calif.) Centennial: Arizona State is involved the most and UCLA is also involved with Smith, who worked out at receiver at the Los Angeles NIKE Camp and defensive back at the Palo Alto NIKE Camp because he's going to play both positions in his senior season.
Dillon Van Der Wal, TE, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian: Penn State is the newest school involved with Van Der Wal, who took an unofficial visit to Cal on Saturday. Baylor and Minnesota have offered. Notre Dame is talking to him, and UCLA is getting involved, too. The Bruins would be considered tough to beat if they offer.
