Palmetto State DB visits Wake

Johnston (S.C.) Strom Thurmond defensive back Keon Cunningham made an unofficial visit to Wake Forest this past weekend to take in the Demon Deacons' victory against Liberty University and came away impressed.
"I went down to Wake Forest yesterday for the game," Cunningham said. "I enjoyed myself down there."

Wake has yet to extend a scholarship offer to the 6-foot, 190-pounder. He also holds offers from Coastal Carolina and Marshall.
The atmosphere at Groves Stadium stood out to Cunningham this past weekend.
"The fans stood out, really," he said. "The fans really support the team and they are just into the game. The players have a real good attitude."
He took note of the aura surrounding the unbeaten Deacons.
"To be honest, I was kind of shocked," Cunningham said. "I hope they keep it up. They've got a good attitude about it."
Vanderbilt was involved with Cunningham at one point, but its interest has waned.
"I haven't talked to Vanderbilt in a while," he said.
The Thundering Herd has his attention, however.
"I hear from Marshall every week," Cunningham said. "Randy Moss went there, so it must be a pretty good school as far as football."
Division I-AA Coastal Carolina is recruiting him hard.
"I haven't really thought much about Coastal until this year, but I'm supposed to go to their game this Saturday to find out more about them," he said.
He's also spoken with Division I-AA power Furman and some of the Virginia coaches came by his school.
"The season's been going pretty good," he said. "We should be 6-0, but we hit a couple of bumps in the road."
