Palmetto State DB to UAB

Chester (S.C.) defensive back Marquis Coleman has made a college decision, according to his high school head coach. Coleman will be playing college football for a Conference USA program.

"Yes, he committed to UAB," Chester head coach Victor Floyd said. "He just enjoyed the visit and the new coaching staff."

Floyd heaped praise on the Blazers program.

"UAB is a great school," he said. "If you look at it they played Oklahoma real close, beat Troy, and lost to Rice by one. Plus, that staff has a special thing happening down there. Conference USA is getting stronger, too, with 4 or 5 bowls now. So, he's excited about chance to play early and the opportunity to play at UAB."

Coleman is a two-star rated prospect according to Rivals.com.
