Palmetto standout has a top five

Conway, S.C., defensive tackle/strongside defensive end Hivera Green is not the biggest talker in the world. That can actually be a very good thing. He is a quiet, humble kid who goes about his business and just happens to be one of the top players in the Palmetto State.
“I have a top five right now,” Green said. “It is nothing set in stone and it could change, but right now the top five schools on my list are Michigan, Florida, Virginia Tech, Florida State and Kansas State. All of those schools and a bunch more have offered.”

The 6-foot-5, 271-pound Green runs the 40-yard yard dash in 4.8 seconds. He did not attend any camps this summer.
“Right now Michigan is still No. 1 on my list,” Green said. “I just love everything about Michigan. I want to take all of my visits and see all of the schools before I make a decision. I’m not in a hurry to decide and I do not want to rush into a decision unless I’m sure of it.”
During his junior campaign Green recorded 134 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and five sacks. He was named to the all-region squad for his efforts.
“I’m looking for a school that has an environment that I fit into,” Green said. “I want to make sure that I surround myself with the right kind of people. I will also get to know the coaching staff and make sure that I like them. Winning is important to me and I want to go to a school where I will have the chance to do a lot of it.”
He is ranked as the No. 10 player in the state of South Carolina by Rivals.com.
