Palmetto QB hit camps hard this summer

One of the Palmetto State’s top signal callers prepared for his senior season by maintaining one of the most active camp schedules we’ve seen this summer.
When asked what camps he attended, Fort Dorchester (S.C.) standout Paul Cianciolo responded: “It’s more like ‘Where didn’t I go?’ I basically spent all of June and July traveling.

“We tried to hit most of the ACC and SEC East schools. I went to Duke, Wake Forest, Clemson, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, N.C. State and Maryland. I just spent a day at most of them so I could make as many as possible, but I wanted to get my name out there and let the coaches know about me.”
Did he accomplish that?
“Yeah, I think so,” Cianciolo said. “It was a real positive experience. Most of the coaches I talked to told me I was going to be in their top two or three quarterbacks they would be evaluating this season.”
Cianciolo (6-5, 220, 4.77) is awaiting his first official scholarship offers. In addition to the schools he visited for camp, he’s also receiving interest from Virginia. He intended to camp with the Cavs, too, but a scheduling conflict nixed that.
“I don’t have a favorite right now,” he said. “Everybody’s on my list until I see who’s going to offer. I’m keeping the door open to everyone, but I’d love to be able to play in the ACC or SEC. I’d be interested in Notre Dame, too.”
In addition to being a nice quarterback prospect, Cianciolo is also a tremendous student. He has scored a 1340 on the SAT and maintains a 4.97 GPA in advanced/weighted courses.
Cianciolo passed for 2,007 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior. He gets his senior season under way Friday as Fort Dorchester takes on Goose Creek.
