Chad Simmons is a Recruiting Analyst for Rivals.com. He was the expert on The Next Class on Fox Sports South from 2011-2015. He currently covers Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.

Taiyon Palmer committed to Duke almost 15 months ago, but the 6-foot, 185 pound cornerback out of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer has decided to back off his commitment to the Blue Devils.

It was not an easy decision.

"After further discussions with my parents, I have decided it's best for me to de-commit from Duke University," said Palmer.
