Palm Springs lineman has skills

Palm Springs, Calif., high school is building a nice program out in the California desert. Palm Springs is home to a very versatile trenchman who can play on both sides of the ball.
The player we would like to introduce to you is defensive lineman/offensive lineman Jeremy Sutherland (6-3, 265, 4.9).

Some in the area feel that Sutherland has more upside potential than USC incoming freshman Lawrence Miles (6-3, 260, 4.7) from La Quinta, Calif.
Sutherland benches 325 and squats over 500.
“Jeremy is very athletic for a big man,” assistant offensive coordinator Scott Saunders said. “He’s got a great frame; Jeremy looks like he weighs 235 or 240.”
“Jeremy also has a huge wingspan,” Saunders said. “He has so much potential.”
“Jeremy loves the physical part of the game,” Saunders said. “He loves to hit and laughs about it.”
“Jeremy’s footwork phenomenal,” Saunders said. “He explodes off the line.”
Sutherland’s versatility will grab the attention of D-I scouts.
“Jeremy may even go both ways for us,” Saunders said. “He has the ability play all the interior line positions, plus he’s an outstanding long snapper.”
Saunders told Rivals.com that there is a good chance that Sutherland could end up playing center on the offensive side of the ball in 2004.
Oregon, Oregon State and Arizona have all shown interest in Sutherland.
