Pahokee WR is all even

When you play at Pahokee, Fla., and you star that means you're a baller. That's because Pahokee is one of the top talent producing programs in the nation. And Martavious Odoms, a 5-foot-8, 164-pound receiver, is one of the stars on the Pahokee roster. He's also a star with the numerous college coaches recruiting him.
But first things first. Odoms is excited about the start of his senior season. He's got big expectations for 2007.

"We're going to win a lot of games," Odoms said. "We didn't miss much. I mean we lose a couple starters, but we didn't lose a whole lot. We need a couple young guys to step up and we should be okay.
"I'm at receiver and corner. I don't play corner unless they really need me to play, but I'm a receiver. I just do what my team needs from me. I do whatever they want me to when they call my number."
And that number gets called a lot.
"I get a couple of screens where I can do some running, but it's more fun when it's down the field," Odoms said. "But helping my team win is the biggest goal. I'm just going out doing what I need to, but blocking is my favorite thing. I'm not a really big guy, but I like blocking because people don't know I can. I surprise some people the way I hit them.
"I pretty much just go 110-percent every time I step on the field. Since I'm a senior I have go out and work hard, because it's going be over so quick so want to just leave everything on the field."
When it comes to recruiting, Odoms said he's up to 17 offers. He's not ready to lean one way or the other.
"The offers I can remember off the top of my head are Tennessee, Rutgers, Notre Dame, Iowa, West Virginia and that's all I remember," he said. "I don't remember all of them, but that's some of them. I don't have any top teams or any teams I like. Those are just the ones I remember. I haven't been able to figure out any favorites yet. All 17 of them are all even for me."
"I'm interested in any school interested in me. Maybe when I visit I can check out their rosters and see what receivers they're getting when I'm coming in. Then be narrowing it down to see what system I fit in and all that. I'm just worried about being around positive players and coaches. I don't care about other stuff, but I want to be around positive people. I know if you're around positive people positive things will happen to you."
