Pahokee (Fla.) High School is well known for the speed and skill that emerges from it to star on the college level. However this year, there is some elite talent in the trenches as well. Strongside defensive end Richard Ash picked up early offers from West Virginia and Florida International and recently added three more.
"Things are treating me good," Ash said. "I have three new offers, Minnesota, Purdue and Ole Miss. I got them like two weeks ago. I was real excited, especially from Ole Miss."
The south Florida native was most impressed by the Rebels, thanks in large part to a big 2008 win within his home state.

"I like them," he said. "I really like them because they beat Florida. I had got a chance to talk to coach Terry Price and he was telling me that he would like me to be part of the defense and he saw my highlight tape and liked what he saw."
Ash insists that he is open to playing football in any location but there is one factor that he is not ignoring.
"I want to go somewhere that I know I can play my freshman year," he said. "Location doesn't really matter to me at this moment."
Along with the offers he has in hand, Ash has also been receiving significant interest from big-time programs like USC, Florida and Tennessee. He is looking at spring practice as a chance to impress some of those coaches further and earn more offers.
"A lot of recruiters are going to be down here too for our spring practice and games," he said. "I was talking to Coach O from Tennessee and Billy Gonzalez from Florida. They're coming down. I got to impress them. Those are the two main offers I want, Tennessee and Florida."
