Pack sign juco WR

Trevor Brackett, an all-conference wide receiver from College of the Canyons (Santa Clarita, Calif.), has signed a National Letter-of-Intent with the University of Nevada today, the first day mid-year junior college transfers can sign with NCAA schools.
The 6-1, 190-pound junior-to-be caught 38 passes for 700 yards and five touchdowns for the 11-1 Canyons this year. A Western States Conference first-team selection, Brackett also earned academic All-America honors this past season.

With Ault’s high-powered and pass-oriented offensive system, Brackett could figure heavily into Nevada’s plans for 2004. He caught 40 passes for 505 yards and six touchdowns as a freshman at College of the Canyons in 2002. As a high school quarterback at Hollywood (Calif.) High School, he was named all-city, first-team all-conference, and earned academic All-America first-team honors in 2001 as a senior.
“He’s a high-character young man who’s worked hard to get where he is today. He’ll fit into our system very well. He runs precise routes and makes tough catches,” Ault said.
He was also recruited by Marshall and West Virginia before signing with the Wolf Pack. The mid-year signing period for junior college transfers continues through January 14, 2004.
