Pace quickens for Divinity

It has been a busy few days for Marrero (La.) John Ehret 2016 linebacker Michael Divinity.
Saturday was a day of seconds for the 6-foot-1, 205-pound linebacker. After earning his second Rivals Camp Series linebacker MVP, he made his way to Southern Miss and received his second offer.

"I picked up Southern Miss after the Rivals Camp," Divinity said. "Right after the Rivals Camp I went and took a visit. It was very nice. I saw the campus. I talked to the head coach. He's a very nice coach. I asked him a couple of questions because I want to be an engineer, and they have a good business program. It was a good visit. The stadium and the football facilities and everything and I found out a lot of history about them."
Then on Monday he received more good news from the state of Mississippi. On Monday, it was the Ole Miss Rebels who let him know they were extending a scholarship offer.
"It caught me off guard because coach Lambert called me when I was in the back lifting weights," Divinity said. "He said he wanted me to come to his office and I was like 'What did I do?' He told me they offered me and they called me."
The standout linebacker also plans to visit LSU on Thursday, and has a visit scheduled to Alabama in a few weeks. A visit to Oklahoma State could also be in the works. The Cowboys became the first school to offer him and he has already found a few things he likes about the Big 12 program.
"It was very nice. It was very shocking," Divinity said. "I was proud. Coach Henderson, he's a good coach. They're on me really hard and they really want me."
UCLA was one of the first to show interest and they have also continued strong efforts in pursuit of the standout linebacker.
It is easy to see the pace of the recruiting process is picking up and it is safe to say this is only the beginning.
