Honors: Torres was selected first-team all-league as a defensive tackle his sophomore year and was selected first-team all-league as an offensive guard.
Statistics: N/A.
Favorite Colleges: “Every team in the Pac10 has sent letters to Torres,” San Pedro head coach Mike Walsh said. “Colorado and Nebraska have too.” Oregon, USC, ASU, Washington, Colorado and Nebraska have been showing a lot of interest in Torres.
Skinny: “Celso-John is the best lineman that has played here in the last 20 years,” Walsh said. “He has it all.”
Torres moves incredibly well for a big guy. He was even timed in the 400-meters in 69 seconds. While that time won’t win many track meets, but for a man of his size that’s moving.
Torres has the talent to be an impact player on either side of the ball on the next level. He has a tremendous work ethic and is considered one of the hardest workers on the team.
During his sophomore season, Torres dominated the line of scrimmage as a defensive tackle. Opposing teams rarely ran to his side of the field.
Torres was moved to the offensive side of the ball as a junior because the San Pedro staff wanted to protect him. Torres was constantly getting cut blocked.
Look for Torres to see action on both sides of the ball as a senior.
