Ricky Town had a tremendous sophomore season leading Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure and his recruitment has been busy with early offers from Miami and UCLA.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect said it's been pretty quiet since St. Bonaventure lost to Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei in the playoffs but a trip over his holiday break could get things going once again.
"Everything has been pretty low key," Town said. "I'm just focusing on school right now but we just started weightlifting again so that was exciting to get back into football. We had like two weeks off.
"Over Christmas break, I'm going up to Northern California and I'm trying to get a visit with Stanford.
"I'd like to just get a chance to check it out and see the campus because I've never seen the campus. That would be something and I'd like to see where the coaches are coming from with the offense and their perspective so I'm looking forward to it."
Town had planned to attend the Pac-12 championship game between UCLA and Stanford but he couldn't make the trip to Northern California. Instead, it looks like something will be worked out in the next few weeks.
Nothing else has been planned but a trip to the SEC might also be worked out before his junior season gets underway. That would be a big visit for one of the top 2015 quarterbacks in the state.
"I'm trying to go to Stanford and Alabama would be cool, too," Town said. "They said I could go to one of their camps so I'm trying to hit those schools."
Town has already received two offers, Stanford, Alabama, Boston College, LSU, Michigan and Penn State are showing interest and the sophomore has not even sent out his film yet.
Once that gets finished, the 2015 prospect could see his recruitment pick up even more.
"I probably will send it out but I really don't know when yet," Town said.
