Pac-12 team stands out to Wicks

Gerard Wicks has made it no secret he likes UCLA a lot and now that Long Beach (Calif.) Poly teammate Randall Goforth just signed with the Bruins that gives Wicks even more incentive to look at them.
The 5-foot-10, 195-pound running back in the 2013 class is hoping an offer comes from UCLA soon. First, Wicks is focused on getting better this off-season so he can dominate in his senior year.
"I'm not trying to worry about it too much," Wicks said. "I'm running track right now to get my speed up for my senior season.

"Randall and I have a chemistry class together and we always talked about UCLA so that wasn't a big, big surprise to me. He always talked about UCLA right there so it's definitely one of the schools I'm looking at."
Four other Long Beach Poly teammates signed with Arizona State so Wicks said he'll keep the Sun Devils in mind as well.
Wicks, who rushed for 772 yards and 11 touchdowns in his junior season for a team that won 10 games, said he's been hearing mainly from UCLA, Colorado, Tennessee and Arizona.
He hopes his recruitment gets busier soon but is willing to wait through his senior year.
"I believe it's going to pick up once the season starts," Wicks said.
The Long Beach Poly standout averaged nearly eight yards per carry this past season and he was one of the more impressive running backs at the U.S. Army National Combine. No offers have come in yet.
